i read alot about changing game files to allow for better weapons armor and more money-but i can't find any of the files on my computer that i would need to edit to make those changes. anyone know where they are?
It depends on the patch. For example there might be a 1.1, 1.2, 1.3 patch that you have to install seperately to each other... but there might also be a 1.4 cumulative patch that would include all of them together. Just make sure to read the patch details first.
I think they only offer the latest patch on the STALKER website. It's probably a safe bet it's cumulative.
I recommend reading the patch details as well. Make sure you only need to download the latest one (STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl did that). I believe Clear Sky does similar, but I cannot confirm as I don't have the game yet. However there are some games, such as Battlefield 2, that require multiple patches to be installed. So make sure to check first.
