So I was super excited for FEAR 2, played the first one, thought it was pretty sweet. Then the game comes out and I'm reading all these bad reviews about how the graphics suck and the ai sucks and the scares suck and I'm like WTF WHY DOES THIS GAME SUCK SO MUCH.Well I got the game anyway because I liked the first one so much and just started playing today. I've only played the first two intervals, but so far everything is better than the first imo. Graphics, scares, everything. So yeah, I'm glad I got it despite the majority of people saying it was a major letdown of a game.Fear 2 - Way better than 7.0 IMO
It's not bad so far. I'd Probably give it a 8.5. I'm at Interval 4 so far but the scares have been fairly minimal, way too many flashes/hallucinations that lead to nothing. I was hoping by this point that Alma would be more aggressive. I don't know what it's missing but it doesn't really feel like I'm playing F.E.A.R at all...And the only thing graphically this game does better than the original is particle effects, everything else is either the same or below average. But i am enjoying it so farFear 2 - Way better than 7.0 IMO
Im pretty sure, most sites that reviewed FEAR 2 said that it wassnt a bad game, but is like a horror sequal (you know, the one that doessnt scare you anymore because youve seen it all before)Also the bar has just gotten higher over the years, while FEAR 2 is competent in heart, it is now considered standard, because every fps has opped thier antee, and the slow mo is getting stale fast.Personally I love the game, Loved the first one aswell, but I DO see thier point, the progress from FEAR1 to FEAR2 is just not enough on todays market. It makes me sad really, peoples expectations has gotten so high, and every single flaw nowadays will break a game.
Definitely better than a 7.0 for sure.
Too bad, it isn't better than the original.
the scares are pretty bad and or missing imo. They just aren't as good as 1. The game is also way too easy.
Yea, I thought it was better then 7.0 I certainly had some scares. Lol.
All this being said I would have bought it but for the length. I'm not spending full price for half a game. That's one of my major deal breakers game length. I know I'm probably a lone wolf with this but newer games just don't seem to last the old 20 to 30 hours like games in the past. But they take up ungodly amounts of HDD space. I will buy it when the price comes down.
i only played the demo, and it just felt a little worse than the first one. That's not saying too much against it tho - it seemed good, but there was only one part that even remotely scared me.
It's ok, but it's been blatantly dumbed down for consoles. They could have spent a few days and added the lean postures for PC, at least.
Hmm.. maybe it's just me then. I'm maybe a third of the way through and there's already been two times where I was like OMG WTF IM SO SCARED.
First one didn't scare me at all.
I'm looking to buy this game on following daysI love the first one and definitely will check this sequel as well regarding the bad reviewsEveryone have their own taste, right? So, we can't fully agree with the reviews scoreBesides, this game also got some pretty nice reviews from other sitesGET FREE USEFUL PC %26 GAMES TIPS HERE
I really don't understand the low review scores, the game is far better than the average scores it's getting. I loved the first and I love this one too. Now Monolith, can we start focusing on NOLF 3 please?
I must say, sometime reviews are really strange... I haven't played it yet but from what i saw it has great potential and seems like a very solid shooter in every aspects. It still amaze me how some games get a 9-10 yet have major flaws while games like Fear 2 get sub par scores.
7.0 isn't a bad score, it's an average ''this game is pretty good, but not great'' scroe. I'd have scored it slightly higher, but given that Fear 2 isn't innovative and doesn't really bring anything new to the table, it really doesn't rate a super high score. It's a good game, I really like it, and I'd have given it an 8, maybe, but it really doesn't equal the original. I don't understand some of the criticisms in the actual reviews, however. I don't find much to be unhappy about in the game. It's only fault is that it isn't very original and essentially repeats the first game with a few new enemies. Nothing wrong with that, but it does make for a game that earns an average to good score at best.
